John and Pauline aim to make your stay special. Close to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, a great local pub and the arty market-town of Bridport, all walkable!

We offer something different, quality accommodation, delicious food, great company and the opportunity to learn a new skill.

Bed and breakfast with hearty aga-cooked breakfasts and comfy beds or enjoy the freedom of self-catering in Ganders Cottage. Relax and get closer to nature, dabble in the fishing lakes or get creative and join in a workshop. An excellent base for those trekking the South West Coastal Path as the bus stops every hour outside of our entrance with some of the best natural sailing waters and the most beautiful stretch of coastline in the UK, there's much to do!

Colmers Hill near to Highway Farm bed and breakfast

This is Colmer's Hill, the wonderful view we enjoy from Highway Farm. If you are lucky and the weather is kind you can enjoy a hearty home-cooked breakfast on the patio and you may see roe deer, buzzards, pheasants and foxes, hundreds of rabbits and lots more!
We are situated within a short distance are the cliffs of the world famous Jurassic Coast, England's first natural World Heritage Site including Golden Cap, the highest point on the south cliffs of England, and unspoilt hills, rivers and picturesque villages of West Dorset. We are also very close to fossil hunters paradise at Charmouth - visit the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre and the 'Pearl of Dorset' - Lyme Regis.

The market town of Bridport is famous for its netting and rope making and is well worth a visit, especially on Market days, Wednesdays and Saturdays; make it a shopping trip! Browse the bric-a-brac stalls and be surprised with the eclectic mix at the Vintage Market situated within the historic art and antiques quarter, here's always a bargain to be had! Bridport has an abundance of excellent restaurants, lively bistros, tasty coffee shops and pubs to welcome you - often live music, plus art and entertainment throughout the year at the Bridport Arts Centre and the quirky, nostalgic Electric Palace.
Bridport, Best Food Town in Dorset 2010 again! We're a foodie's paradise, you'll be spoilt for choice. Come and visit the monthly Farmers Market where you can sample our local produce and you might just get to bump into Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall one of our local celebrity chefs from nearby River Cottage. Meet Matt Follas, winner of MasterChef 2009 at his lovely restaurant called The Wild Garlic nestling in the square in Beaminster with its lovely shops and St Mary's Church, you can park in the square, very handy but don't forget to book if you want to eat at The Wild Garlic. Recent Guardian article on Top Ten Dorset Budget Eats - check out Downhouse Farm, it's just over the hill from us, you won't be disappointed.

Explore Thomas Hardy's 'Wessex' made famous in many of his stories and poems and Enid Blyton fans of all ages, www.gingerpop.co.uk.  Visit The Ginger Pop Shop in Corfe Castle Village Square, explore the places in Dorset where her stories were set and understand the historical period in which they were written.

There's an abundance of beaches nearby all along the Jurassic Coast, plus seasonal fayres, fetes, carnivals, open gardens, art festivals and open studios. There's so much to do and see, whatever the time of year.  Check our LINKS page and Workshop page for ideas of what to do and see

The Bus Stop for No. 53 & 31 is outside our entrance.
We are called Old London Inn, located between Bridport Bus Station and Chideock.

Discover for yourself the stunning Jurassic coastal locations filmed in the recent ITV detective series, Broadchurch.
West Bay and and the chalet at Eype are easily accessible from Highway Farm.
The series was penned by Doctor Who and Torchwood writer Chris Chibnall and featured a star studded cast including David Tennant, Pauline Quirke, Olivia Colman and Jodie Whittaker.
Broadchurch is a love letter to the scenery of the Jurassic Coast" says Chris Chibnall, "which uses key West Dorset landmarks as part of its story, the landscape informs the drama: the cliffs, the sea, the beach are all key elements of the story.
The star studded cast and crew have been so complimentary about the area. David Tenant quoted as saying "this is the only place you'd ever want to come on holiday", Olivia Chapman describes the area as "idyllic" and Pauline Quirke saying she has "absolutely fallen in love with the place".
