Jurassic Coast Dorset

Jurassic Coast

185 million years in 95 miles of Dorset & Devon Coastline

Our coast is undeniably amazing – it’s UNESCO listed as a England’s first World Natural Heritage Site. We’re talking on a par with the Grand Canyon. Think Far from the Madding Crowd and its rolling green hills married to The French Lieutenant’s Woman; waves and all. It’s Jurassic because dinosaurs bones have been found in the area but don’t go climbing or hammering the cliffs it can be dangerous and there’s plenty enough finds on the beaches.

Guided Fossil Hunts

How about a private 2 hr Fossil Walk with an expert, it’s the best way to learn about our famous Jurassic Coast. Tide and weather dependent, need to arrange before your stay, please dress appropriately i.e. sensible shoes for pebbly beaches,  and bring a rucksack with a drink, sunscreen & a waterproof, our British weather can be fickle!  Children must be supervised.

Brandon Lennon, local Lyme Regis professional fossil collector with 25 years  www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com  or Paul at Lyme fossil shop/ guided walks  – jurassicgems.webs.com   A private walk can be booked by arrangement online(or by phone).
