Charity Support

UPDATE we’ve raised……… £69,106.00
as at Decmber 2018

Tremendous! With the amazing and continued support and help of many kind friends, neighbours and long suffering family!     …and it all started with the KISS Cook Book……

The Highway Farm KISS Cook Book, ‘keep it so simple’ was inspired by my lovely B&B Guests, they chivvied me into gathering together my favourite, tried and tested recipes and breakfast specials.

Since 2008 we’ve sold over 5000 cook books. Not many guests leave without one! It’s a little taste of Dorset with lovely local recipes for Dorset apple cake, elderflower cordial, mackerel pâté and lots more useful recipes made from ingredients you’ll find in your cupboard, good wholesome food from local products, freshly served and in season when its tastes its best, with no waste.
– and you can still buy a KISS Cook Book! From Highway Farm, The Ilchester Arms, The George at Chideock, Groves Nursery, and Symondsbury Store….and there’s a handy Kindle version too!

All the proceeds from the Kiss Cook Book go to Charity – to Cancer Research UK and to projects in Malawi……and we have been busy raising money for other Cancer Charities too, Breakthrough, Prostate Cancer,  Dorchester Hospital scanner appeal, Dorset Weldmar Hospice, Great Ormond St Hospital, and The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, The Jurassic Trust and local charities too, and having lots of fun along the way…………..

Our Bra-ed Wire Fence caused lots of amusement during Dorset Arts Week, the Kiss Ball was terrific and raised over £11K.  We’ve held 5 Big Breakfasts and 2 Father’s Day Brunches plus Village Do’s, annual Christmas wreath-making workshops, a Plant Sale and an hilarious Pig Race Night and together with friends we’ve Bake it Better for the children in the UK and Malawi.

The charity support is brilliant and we thank everyone involved for their kindness and generosity, it is amazing how things can spiral and grow, with a little help from your friends!
